The MOT test is an annual requirement for all SEAT vehicles over 3 years old. At GSR Garage in Telford, we carry out MOT preparation services for all SEAT models to help you pass first time. Common SEAT MOT failure points include worn brake components, tyres below the legal limit, suspension wear, lighting faults, and excessive exhaust emissions. For diesel SEAT models, emission testing is particularly strict, and DPF blockage on 2.0L TDI diesel engines can cause MOT failure if the DPF is blocked or the EGR system is malfunctioning. Before your SEAT's MOT, we recommend checking: all exterior lights are working, tyres have sufficient tread depth and are free from damage, windscreen wipers and washers function correctly, the horn works, mirrors are secure and not cracked, number plates are legible and correctly coloured, and there are no warning lights on the dashboard. Our pre-MOT inspection covers all these points and more. We check air conditioning compressor noise, suspension bush wear on front control arms, and ensure the braking system is within specification. Catching potential failures before the test saves time and avoids the cost of a retest. For commercial SEAT vans, additional checks are required for Class 4 and 7 MOTs. We ensure all seatbelts, load restraints, and commercial-specific safety items are compliant before the test.
